This journey has been (what seems like) long. I have learned a lot about health, diet, weight loss, what works and doesn't work for myself, what to expect each week, not to set my goals so high, to be happy about my results no matter what and to be an encouragement to others. It sure does help to have support and accountability while you are making healthier changes in your life. Thanks to every one that is/has been/will be there to cheer me on. I could not do it without you!

I'm so close to 40 lbs lost! This is new and exciting! I'm thinking that I need to get my hair cut and highlighted as a reward ;)

{After Week 17 & Breaking Through My Plateau}

So here I am after week 17. I hit a stand still in my weight loss April 19-May 14. I know, not long right? WRONG! When you are eating healthy, working out, counting calories, watching macros, and doing everything you know to do, then 4 weeks seems like forever! Anyways, after going weeks with no weight loss, I decided to try something different. Juicing!!! Ever heard of it? Well, it is a great way to get tons of vitamins, fruits and veggies into your diet, heal your body and lose weight. I started juicing seriously on May 14th. I originally wanted to do the juice fast, but I have juiced the majority of the time and have healthy lean protein and veggies for a meal when I feel like I need it. After a good workout I just really feel like I need more than juice. So, that is what I have been doing lately and here is my progress for the week.....

As you can see (below), since I started juicing I have lost almost 1 lb a day.....

{Going Green Juice}

Today's juice....Going Green! This one is very nice! I liked it a lot. I think this one will be my go to juice since it is easier to drink. I have a friend who loves to juice and she shared her recipe with me:

Going Green Juice
(modified from the original recipe Mean Green- see below pic)

3 to 4 large leaves if Kale

1/2 a lime

1/4 a lemon

2 GS apples

1 kiwi

1 cucumber

4 stalks of celery

1 inch of ginger (optional)

Makes 25 to 30 oz!

{Sun Kissed}

Here is today's morning pick me up juice. I have to say.... it is very spicy! I started my 10 day juice fast today. I'm excited to see how I will feel on day 10. If you've never watched "Fat, sick and Nearly Dead" you should! I'm not saying it is for everyone. I don't have any evidence that it works, but I'm giving it a go! I'll keep you updated :)

"Get glowing skin with this beautiful juice rich in carotenoids, a family of more than 700 naturally-occurring yellow, red and orange pigments found in vegetables and fruits. A small study from the University of St. Andrews in Scotland showed the groups that consumed just 3 extra servings of carotenoid containing fruits and vegetables showed a small change in their skin tones and coloration that was enough to be perceived as more attractive to others in just 6 weeks. Here is more information on how fruits and vegetables can make us appear more attractive."

{Week 15 Update}

I haven't taken any pictures since week 11, because I haven't been losing. After much research and experimenting I've finally seen the scale drop a few more pounds. I learned through research that I wasn't eating enough. So, after weeks of eating more calories, my body has responded and is cooperating.....for the moment. I have changed my exercise routine a little as well. Instead of hours of cardio, I have been lifting heavy for the majority and doing little cardio. I've notice a change in my thighs and arms so far. I've also noticed that I am stronger and have more endurance. About a month ago I tried a Body Pump class and LOVED it, but I could barely do the squats. I think I was only squatting halfway. Now I can squat parallel to the floor and I can do way more reps than a month ago. I can climb stairs easier as well.

Here are a couple of comparison pictures.....

 As you can see above not much change in my overall weight since week 11, 
but my arms are smaller!!! YAY! see below....
